Gangnam Style improves school’s GCSE results

Penketh High School Headteacher, Jeff Hughes, has become a You Tube sensation after creating his own version of Gangnam Style to encourage students to reach exam targets.

The video, which has had nearly 60, 000 views already after being posted on Friday, was used as incentive for GCSE students to reach their target grades in exams. Penketh High School in Warrington is already in the top 10% of improving schools in the country and headteacher, Mr Hughes, has said he has no doubt this year they will acheive their best results yet.

It does make you wonder, if encouragement for students to acheive their grades in GCSE’s was always approached in such a fun way, would we see a significant improvement? We think so. Exam’s are a high pressures and stressful time for young pupil’s about to leave school, and adding a touch of entertainment and fun will surely get them through it!!

We all love seeing our teachers make a fool of themselves, and this one has done it in (gangnam) style!
